Write for Us
Newsmotion publishes clear, accurate explainers from writers and subject-matter experts. If you can take a complicated US topic and make it genuinely understandable, we want to hear from you.
What we are looking for
- Explainers on US politics, money, technology, health, or climate that answer a real question a reader would search for.
- Original work, grounded in primary sources, that has not been published elsewhere.
- Clear, plain-English writing that respects the reader's time.
Editorial standards
- Aim for 1,000 to 1,800 words of substantive, accurate content.
- Cite reputable primary sources. We fact-check, and we flag figures that change annually.
- No thin or purely promotional content. Contributions are editorial, not advertising.
- We edit for clarity, accuracy, and style.
A note on links
We consider a limited, relevant author link where it genuinely serves the reader. We do not publish spun content, AI-generated filler, or pieces whose only purpose is a backlink. Quality earns placement.
How to pitch
Email editor@newsmotion.org with a short pitch of two or three sentences, the angle, and a link to a writing sample. If you have a full draft, attach it. We respond to pitches we can use within about a week.
